What is a good white wine to go with Fondue?!

Question:

What is a good white wine to go with Fondue?

It is our 3 year anniversary on Saturday and we don't really like going out, so we are going to do a fancy dinner at home. We decided to do a traditional cheese fondue for something special and different. What is a good white wine to go with fondue?? Nothing too dry or too expensive please!

Pinot Blanc is a quintessential food wine. You can find a nice bottle for under $10 that is citrusy, with a medium body and long, bright finish.

Sauvignon Blanc is a bit more expensive (~$15) but I find it has a fruitier finish -- grapefruit, nectarines, pears, tangerine, honey. It would be delicious with the cheese fondue.

Ask the person in your wine store which one they would recommend, and never be afraid to tell them when you are on a budget. There are many good California, Australian and New Zealand wines at also price levels.

white zinfandel would be nice

I would try Kendall Jackson's Chardonnay. It is very inexpensive and available at any grocery or liquor shop.

Chardonnay or Chablis go well they are light and fruity which go well with cheeses...Barton &Gustier are a solid bottle of Chardonay, there's really a ton out there even the Luna Di Luna Chardonay Pinot mix (the blue bottle ) is a simple one that doesn't put people off . I'm a red fan , but the Luna Di Luna i'll drink if the company's good.

A Pinot Grigio would go great with the fondue. I think Turning Leaf has one, and they are not expensive at all

For something off dry you might try a vouvray but other than that I would recommend a loire valley white or burgundy not too much oak. maybe if you want to try a new varietal go with viognier very good wine and made well in NY state as well. any wine you like will go well with cheese. try champagne or a sparkler if you like

you could try sangria is light and fruity its one of my favorites
