Does unopened wine or hard liquor go bad?!

Question:

Does unopened wine or hard liquor go bad?

it was inherited, dirty in a storage space, and covered in dirt/dust! stored vertically, in boxes. it is from the 60's, 70's and 80's.

Thanks!

Answers:
Hard liquor will not go bad. Unopened wine would depend on how it was stored. If the cork dried, it might have allowed oxydation in which case the wine might be bad. If it got too warm or too much light, it could damage the taste. If bottles were on sides and cool, they should be ok... just think wine cellar.

unopened wine always has a chance of going bad, even higher chance if it wasn't stored properly (on its side, cooler temps). Liquor stays good for years unopened but heat is also a foe. You lose some flavors but nothing will have grown in them that will kill you, they will just taste like crap at worst.

I would drink it, if anything it would give a different taste but might get you drunker.

I don't think wines go bad, but perhaps you could go ask someone at a wine/spirit store....they should be able to tell you.

Wine will go bad after a while, liquor shouldn't. I know some liquor can be kept in the freezer and not freeze, maybe only vodka but I'm not sure, that way heat wouldn't effect it.

send me a msg with some information on the environment it was stored in and what you have! I might want to buy it!

can we drink together, oh yeah!!!
