Do Tesco's 24 hour stores serve alcohol 24 hours a day?!

Question:

Do Tesco's 24 hour stores serve alcohol 24 hours a day?

I need to stop at a 24 hour Tesco in St. Helens (outside Liverpool), probably some time after 12am (midnight) and pick up some beer. Are they able to serve beer all hours or only up to a certain time?

Thanks.

Answers:
Check your local laws on alcohol sales. Some places can't sell after a certian hour and it doesn't matter what the store hours are, the just discontinue sales. If nothing else call the store you wish to purchase at before hand and find out if they are able to make a sale at that hour.

They are only allowed to serve until 11pm after that the tills close to buying alcohol

Oh yes 24 hour licensing laws it maybe ok then

Cant be 100% sure but once tried in sainsbury's about 1.30 am and was told couldnt serve me until 11.30 am so pretty sure tesco would b the same. but good luck anyway!

having worked in a Tesco stores I can tell you that the tills automatically stop the sale of alcohol at 11:30 pm but now we have 24 hour licensing laws in this country you should be able to buy it at anytime. Why not phone the store and check before you go.

As far as I'm aware they have the same opening hours as off license's in regards to alcohol.

depends on the what the hours the "person permitted to sell alcohol" applied for on their "personal licence" for "permitted hours" they applied for when the licencing hours changed. it wont be them personally but the bosses of the region that decided.

No the licensing laws wont allow it. I think they stop selling alchol about 10.30 pm

no
