Will 'Light' beer be the next trend for UK drinkers?!

Question:

Will 'Light' beer be the next trend for UK drinkers?

Im just curious because when I was in the States all there was everywhere was 'Light' beer. The only lower calorie beers Im aware of in the UK right now are Michelob Ultra, Coors Fine Light and Holsten Pills.
So its still a small consumer demand in the UK, where as it dominates the Beer market in the US.
Is anybody aware of any other low calorie beers in the UK right now?

Answers:
Light beers are not really much lower in calories than regular beer--but they taste watery--so i would think Brits would have more sense and stick with time-honored tradition.

Trends only matter so much in the US--guess we all have ADD or something.

I pray that our friends in the UK be spared the abomination which is light beer! ;-)

i noticed the same when i was in the states im sure the craze will hit us soon. Miller lite is quite nice though try it

Light Beers are a bit watery but like everything else you'll get used to it if your like most people counting calories.

I hope not, Americans are smart in some areas but most are not in the beer department (please see Budweiser) - please keep the well made beer flowing and keep importing it to the poor UK folks thirsty here in the USA.

Light lager style beers have been widely popular in the UK for quite a number of years. The pernicious advance of these light/lite beers should frighten us all -unless it's 105 F in the shade.
