Answers:
I went last year. My advice is to rent a car and drive to Westvleteren to the St. Sixtus Abby (they are on the web) to try the famed Westvleteren beers. They can only (supposed to be) purchased at the Abby or the gift shop. I did find bottles in some store in Brugge but.....it's a very hard beer to get outside of Belgium and the Westv 12 is often voted the best beer in the world. You have to try it!!! and mail me some!! ; )

Never been their but I like your picture.

Creek Lambiek, it really takes you high.

I've never been myself, but I am huge fan of Belgian Ales!! Corsendonk Abbey brown is good. My favorite though would have to be Guldendraak (it's in a little white bottle..brown label with a golden dragonship). It's 10.5% abv though.. but the taste is far above that of any others i've had. I've had Orval many times, used to stock it in my bar... I just don't think it's a great representative of a rich full Belgian ale. La Trappe is good.. I am a big fan of Stella... but that's just my opinion. If you're going there, I am jealous!! ( I think the guy above me meant Kriek Lambic... but Framboise is good too!) Lindeman's makes the best lambics i've had.

I've personally never been there. But a guy I work with goes every year and brings me back Leffe. Very good beer!!!

Try various trappiste and abbey ales! belgium is the only place you can get them.

Was in Belgium once upon a time......most boring country in europe. Compare it with Italy, France, Spain and my country the glorious United Kingdom and there's nothing there.

Btw, Stella is the best

Stella art. & Leffe. no point in trying any other brands, these are the best.

I recommend trying the ones you cannot already find where you live. Don't spend your time and money to go to Belgium and then drink the beers you can buy at home.

I was born and raised in Belgium and tried many, many beers. I like all of the above mentioned ones but one of my favs is 'Kwak'. It's considered a 'dubbel' or 'double' beer and refers to the higher alcohol content.

The glass that is used to serve Kwak is the unique feature, look at the link to see a picture.

You have to drink the beer slowly otherwise the content of the bottom round gushes rapidly out and will spill all over you. Some people say this makes a 'kwak' sound.

The glasses are expensive and some bars require you to give a shoe as collateral which they hang from the ceiling, if you break the glass, the shoe stays which is quite a unique sight.
