Wine, what is your favorite wine red or white and why?

I also want to know of a rememberable experience while drinking wine. A first date, wedding, just relaxing, whatever just a rememerable moment.

I like red (Merlot or Cabernet) and I like white (dry as in a Chardonnay or sweet as in a Reisling). I also like Rose, which I hear is making a comeback! Kinda depends on what I'm having to eat with it, if anything.

Most memorable - drinking cold duck (yuck looking back) with my new husband of about 12 hours, from our silver champagne glasses while sitting on a balcony overlooking the ocean on our honeymoon.
2nd most memorable - drinking good champagne with my husband of now 30 years, from the same silver champagne glasses, while sitting on our home's balcony, overlooking the city lights.
