Open bottle red wine - best way to store overnight?!

Question:

Open bottle red wine - best way to store overnight?

Answers:
Just overnight? Put the cork back in and leave it upright on the counter.

For overnight it doesn't need to go in the fridge.

Best thing to do is invest in one of those kits that includes a rubber "cork" and a pump. This way you can pump out all the air before returning it to the fridge for the night. I'm the only one at home that likes wine, and only drink a glass a day. I can make a bottle last me a week. The Pumper really keeps it fresh for about a week. The trick is to get as much of the air out of the bottle, as you can.

Upright, with a cork / stopper and in the fridge (to reduce oxidation). Remember to get it out of the fridge in time to come back to room temperature.

I assume we're not talking "Petrus" here!

To phillipscown...leftover Petrus hahahahahahahahaha

Cap it tightly and store it in a cool place. Better yet, drink it and store it in your stomach.

Just stick the cork or a stopper back in. Any red wine halfway decent will usually taste better for being open for a day. If its very old vintage wine and needed drinking then it probably wont last - but you should have drunk it anyway in that case. And if its cheap plonk then just pour it away or use it in a stew.

A vac-u-vin pump does work well and will keep wine fresh for anything up to a week.

Don't be shy about putting in the fridge. It is the practice with reds now, no determent.

cork it fridge it or drink it.

Use a Vacuvin rubber stopper or
