I need some decent champagne for a special occasion!?!

Question:

I need some decent champagne for a special occasion!?

But, I find that a lot of online shops tend to either rip you off or charge annoying prices for delivery. Does anyone know of any online shops that sell decent champagne without these two downsides? Safe

Answers: Majestic are pretty good usually, but you need to buy 12 bottles. This doesn't all need to be champagne though, you can mix and match.
The 3 for 2 you get in the likes of Threshers etc aren't as good deal wise as they seem... they price hike before the deal starts.
If you can get to a Costco you can get a case of 6 Veuve for about the same as 20 quid per bottle... or if you want higher then they have Krug for about 60 LOL. Also have cases of Lanson or Moet at equally good prices, but I'd buy Veuve over them any day :-)
Another place I stumbled across was Whitebridge Wines (www.whitebridgewines.co.uk). They have a good range of Gosset, Pol Roger (fizz of choice for Churchill), Joseph Perrier etc all at good prices. I grabbed a bottle or 2 of Nominé-Renard out of interest when I cleared them out of Jacquesson and was very pleasantly surprised indeed. Delivery was very good and only a few quid per order. Serious Champagne drinker Korbel Brut is pretty good. But why do you want to order on line. Shipping costs will kill you. Go to a local store and buy it. try another type of sparkling wine, such as a spanish cava. ask at your favorite liquor/wine store. the sparklers from origins other than the champagne region of france are just as tasty, often better, and a good deal less expensive.

a good shopkeeper should be able to direct you to a wine that is sweet, dry, has a mineral finish, or is very light, according to your personal taste. put yer shoes and socks on and step around the corner for some korbel. I agree with the guy above - do you really need to buy online.
My fave champagne is Veuve Clicquot. Try Tesco;s as they often have offers on for <£25 per bottle. As far as Iam concerned a nice bottle of Bollinger is hard to beat Why on line? Pop into tesco, they have a good range and the rule generally with champagne is you get what you pay for. If its really really special Laurent Perrier rose is wonderful at about £38 a bottle but you can get Mumms or Moet for about £22 or sparkly wine is from about a tenner. Not knowing exactly what you are looking for in price? -
Try this link: http://www.ewineinfo.com

It will like you to the wineries that make it in Northern California. Choices and prices are listed. You can order direct, if you cannot find a better deal. Under Napa look for Domain Chandon or Mumm Covee Napa. Or one I like under Mendocino call Roederer Estate. forget the champers it is over priced as well as overrated. go for an assortment of good quality white and red wines (these days there are plenty of sparkling wines around) or put the normal wines on the tables with some well chilled lemonade/then your guests can be sure of having a drink they like.
have a lovely time I don't know where you live but Great Grog does a good line in fizz
