Wine of the month Club?!

Question:

Wine of the month Club?

Can anyone tell me if there is a good but " less expensive " wine of the month" club,,, how much did it cost per month? If you were a member, what kind of wine did you get, was it good, or not so much? I love Chardonney, and Cabernet and Merlot.. But I will try just about any kind of wine..

Answers: i did the california wines thing... but apparently i can't find them for some reason... (most likely out of business? too bad) here's a generalized search.

i did many clubs but found the one i was with in california to be the best.. all were interesting but expensive with some dissapointments.

really you must do your own research.. no one can tell you what you'll like at the price you can afford.

check around.. shop around, ask questions and you can cancel at any time for most.

remember to have your credit card ready, most won't take anything but credit for id check and electronic transactions.

:D

what you are about to embark on is a great journey and it'll be wonderful no matter where you go.

my club was so long ago and cost me $40 a month for one red and one white... then i upgraded.. to half a case... they were great... was with them for 10 years then went broke... now i can't find them at all.

i found the nicest clubs on the west coast...

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=win... you need to watch out for any wine of the month club. there are usually other motives involved. the best thing to do is join a local one, maybe at a liquor store or restaurant. this way you can call on the person who "thinks" they know about wine when the recommend a crappy wine to you. I steer people clear of WOM clubs. Usually they are private label wines made by a "boutique" wineries that crank out the same wine for many different clubs or sell it to firms thaat bottle it under many different labels.. They'll tell you they are rare and only available through their club but that's a dubious statement at best.
You're better off working directly with wineries whom send you a selection or two each month or as they're released. You know where they came from and you know you're paying a fair price.
