Answers: Bordeaux about 4 to 5 years.

2008 onwards! Aging wine is a difficult process. You must always lay the bottle on the side and keep it from direct sunlight and too much artificial light. Also, keep the bottles away from heat, humidity or anywhere below about 55 degrees. One of the things I do is to remove the foil wrapper on top of the bottle and check for any leakage or a damaged cork. If you have a leak, excess moisture, or any cork damage, the wine will be vinegar after a while. Aging is a matter of taste too. Most people cannot tell the difference between an aged wine and a wine just bottled. For Bordeaux the general rule is 5-10 years, merlot 3-7 years for maximum taste. At the end of the aging, open the wine and do not pour it for 45 minutes to an hour. The oxygen going into the bottle gives it a fuller flavor. Pour it carefully as to not allow residue from the aging process into your glass. keep it at 58 degrees F and on its side. Rotate a quarter turn every day and keep it out of the light. Should be prime in about 6 more years assuming you have been handling it properly. give it another year or two About 3 to 5 years.
