It is a good white wine made in many parts of the world, most reknown in France as well as California. In fact, many of the Champagne is actually made partly froM Chardonnay grapes. Chardonnay grapes likes cooler temperature, so they are commonly grown in the Carnero district of California.

It is indeed a good wine that goes well with food that are not too overpowering. It really goes well with salad as well as lightly flavored chicken dish. Chardonnay is typically served in 50-low 60's degree. Source(s):
