Carling Black Label?!

Question:

Carling Black Label?

When and why did Carling drop the black label tag?

Answers:
Check out the following from the Carling website:

2000 - Mad Cow Disease swept the nation, Leicester City won the last ever Worthington Cup Final to be played at Wembley Stadium, and Carling dropped the ‘Black Label’ in response to the public’s demand for a snappier bar call.

who knows. Maybe when people bought it the blackness surrounded them in sort of a black plauge and trauma tised everybody so it had to be removed. Curse.

not sure when, long time ago though, somebody probably thought it was racist like black boards and bar bar black sheep, ridicules eh.

oh yes!!! so they have! i hadnt even noticed.

Not sure when but guaranteed its due to racist undertones ..??

it was dropped for advertising reasons, re marketing when coors brought out from six continents which was the old mitchells and butlers about six years ago.

ask them, they have a contacts page on their web page

becoz Mable didn't like it any more

Here in South Africa we still have it as Black Label only.
