Help in alleviating my hangover?!

Question:

Help in alleviating my hangover?

I'm at work, and I have a horrendous hangover. What can I do to get me through the day?

Answers: Not water; although this is the best thing for you, it will initially make you feel much worse.
Pain killers with something to eat (if you don't eat you won't digest the meds properly and they won't work).
Sugery drinks Nurofen followed by copious amounts of Lucozade. on your lunch break go and have a drink. lots of water A Mars Bar for glucose and sugar fix and a bottle of flavoured milkshake from Spar.

The milkshake always works for me... try it!! : ) drink loads of water!! tell your boss you feel too ill to work
go home take some ibufren and
go to bed.!! cheese sandwich and pint of milk take some Vitamin C tablets next time before you go to bed. I don't know why, but they really help! But for now...just drink a ton of water and take about 4 ibprofen and the headache will go away although you will still feel sh*tty for awhile. IBProfin and decongestant Bananas, tomato juice, and orange juice. And okay take a couple of Ibuprofen... A good fry up always does it for me ! Bananas, lots of water and paracetamol! only time will make the hangover go away Pop out to boots or superdrug & find some Berocca. Great stuff full of vitamins & stimulants that a lot of my friends swear by for a hangover cure (i dont get em - hehe) You get that craving for stodgy food because your bloog sugar level is low....I always go for a bacon butty on brown bread with brown sauce...you get the salt levels back in your body which alcohol takes out. Brown bread levels out your blood sugar levels and lets face it bacon is awesome. What you then need is a cup or two of tea....theanine calms you down and makes you alert and tea is bloody good in general. That'll get you through most of the day! A big fry up! Don't like greasy food? Go for poached eggs at lunch. Tomato juice always helps. A small alcoholic drink (like a shot of vodka) works instantly. Water makes it worse. You've got to eat though. Pro-biotic drinks and yogurts are also very good for that. Calcium carbonate (found in antacids such as Tums) will settle down your stomach. Drinking a small glass of water with a little salt in it will also help get rid of any nausea. A good dose of Vitamin C will process the toxins out of your body a bit faster. Eating honey seems to help, and NON-carbonated sport drinks such as Gatorade will replenish lost minerals in your body. I've heard that eating a raw egg will also do the trick, though I haven't tried it yet. Have another beer!!! lol lots of strawberry nesquik, i have the powder that you mix with milk but you can buy it ready made. works every time. Take a couple of Brufen & Lucozade.
Keep of tea & coffee.
If you can eat something bacon sandwich usually does the trick For me fresh orange is my saviour. Replaces lost acids in your body. Failing that, a big greasy fry up usually works for me! Normally I would not serest this, but a full English break fast, actually it originated in Ireland lord know`s why they call it English, but try to eat as much as you can, followed buy a cup of tea with sugar in to give you that boost, then take to paracetanol and drink water later in the day. Hope it goes soon I know how you feel but you will be great tomorrow.
Regards
Ryan Dior. Water. Lots of water. And 800mg of ibruprofen. Don't try to eat or drink anything other than water until your stomach has settled, and try something nice and calming. No orange juice, as the acid will set your stomach off. If you take caffeine, try full fat coke - the sugar and the caffeine should help perk you up. Well, drink as you'd never drink before. Water, please. Tons. And if you can add some lemon to it, better yet.
Coffee or any kind of caffeine will make it worst, try to avoid them. And if you can, eat something will lots of fat. Fat 'drinks' all the alcohol in your system and its released faster causing less damage. Try french fries, bread and butter (loads of butter), anything like that. Its a little bit less effective when you eat fat after the drinking took place... A lot of people eat fatty stuff before to reduce the amount of alcohol their body processes (like in an office party, if their have a very low tolerance to alcohol and would like to keep their jobs, or in a date in which they fear to get gross, depressed or sleepy).
Hope you feel better soon! It's not drink that causes a hangover it's waking up! :-) But I guess if you have to wake up drink plenty of water,if you drink a glass of water for every drink you have whilst out on the razel, you won't get a hangover. Also 'Resolve' is very good! Buy it in suoermarkets or chemists, booze dehydrates you, hence 'da pain in da brain'. Just say never again n mean it! Good Luck You poor little Gem Gem! Drink some Irn Bru and eat something spicy like curry or chilli. Hope you feel better soon! coffee This may sound nasty but it has worked for me for years. Before you go to bed (so you won't get the hangover) or when you wake up have anything with vinegar, pickles, olives anything. My old boss told me it absorbs alcohol and must because if I do forget at night and wake up with a hangover it's gone withing ten minutes of eating pickles. Go figure
