Why does beer and wine attract fruit flies?

Answers: All alcoholic beverages are loaded with sugar. I used to make my own beer, took a lot of sugar to make it. Well wine has fruit in but as for beer....I guess fruit flies are alchoholics. It's the sugar in it that attracts them. Must be the sugar content in them. if your beer is attracting fruit flies...you ain't drinkin it quick enough!!! sugar Who isn't attracted to beer and wine. Just mix in a little whiskey and you'll get them overdosed on the booze, they really are lightweights, for obvious reasons. yes
