How do you avoid getting drunk at a drinking party?!

Question:

How do you avoid getting drunk at a drinking party?

any tips?
if drinking hard liquor or just plain beer.

Answers: Well if it's a drinking party, I drink! But so I don't wake up with a major hangover, I keep hydrated by drinking gatorade, water, or even red bull, between my alcohol shots.
In the morning, i'm not really hungover...no headache!

But to answer your question a different way...if you're trying to avoid getting drunk, show up a little late, eat first, drink slowly and walk around.(when you're moving around, no one can see how little you've actually drank!) And leave early also, by saying that you've gotta get up early for something.

But no matter if you're sober, or drunk...it's a party, so have fun! dont, just get wasted, it would be rude not to eat food and pace yourself..... come on man. A single tumbler of good scotch can last arbitrarily long. Incrase your sugar level before going to such party. What you drink is almost irrelevant.
it is the amount of alcohol in the drink that makes the difference.

A typical mixed drink has the same amount of alcohol as a beer or a wine. So the answer is drink less. You can drink a water between every drink. This will keep you hydrated and will help slow down your intake of alcohol. You can also drink soda. Everyone will think its a mixed drink.

What I do is drink less. Turn up very late, or not at all ;) Drink less than you normally would or not at all. Bring your own drink or say I'm driving tonight.
If you really want to drink, but just don't really want to get drunk, eat just before going, and drink slowly (drink 3 drinks instead of 6). Also munch on snacks if there are any. The fuller you are on food, the less room you have for alcohol. You can practice the following:

- Don't Drink
- Space your drinks really well with a bottle of water in between each drink
- Limit your time at the "party"
- Snack the whole way through

**Liquor and Beer are basically the same, but liquor will go down quicker, e.g. shots, shooters, smaller glasses and concentrated amounts....so pick your poison well. Drinking party=get wasted. Drink slowly and eat while you are drinking. That will absorb most of the alcohol. (try eating bread) uhhh! drink less? Little as possible is the only option. Pace yourself and stay away from the shots. Also, make sure that you have a good dinner. Drink N/A Beer If your drinking a stubbie and people are around you tip it up like your drinking and block your mouth and make swallowing actions with your throat and just stay on the one stubbie for a while Drink water in between each liquor drink, or depending where your standing, if you are playing sculling games through the drink over your shoulder eat some spicy food before you go & keep snaking on nut, chips or pretzels Just say "no". DRink water
