How do I clean my kegorator lines?!

Question:

How do I clean my kegorator lines?

I just bought a kegorator from my buddy after it was sitting in his garage unused for 2 years. Is there a good way to clean the lines without paying $50 for one of those kits that has the pump?
Thanks

Answers: Without using the canister kit, the only way to clean would require you seperating the hose from the Sankey, the open the tap end. Place a the sankey end of the hose into a bucket filled with an alkaline cleaner (you can problably get a small packet from your local home brew store?) make sure hose is submerged in solution and use a wet vac on the tap end to suck up solution though hose. Folow that with clean water to rinse out. If possible, tie a fishing weight to the end of a long peice of cotton yarn (you can get this at a craft store.) and drop it through the hose till it comes out the opposite end, then use that yarn to floss the line, if it comes out clean, then you got it all, if not, you may need a second flushing. In the end though, it is way worth it to get the cleaning kit.. Source(s):
