Red Wine, What is the differences between Syrah & Shiraz?!

Question:

Red Wine, What is the differences between Syrah & Shiraz?

Answers: The are in fact the same. The difference is that Syrah (was the original name - mainly used in France). whereas Shiraz was the name used In the New World (Australia mainly). However maketing has changed all that you get Shiraz from France & Syrah from South Africa for example. Do they taste different ? Not because of the name of the vine but from differences in technique, environment, etc. Syrah is the original shiraz (language barrier I was told). It is also tastier. they are the same grape despite what the spin murchants try to tell you, the original root stock comes from teh same place then grown in different countries but it is the same vine i believe there is no difference just you say potatoe i say potato,
in Australia we say Shiraz in France they use the term Syrah.
