How many people would you say drive home after drinking?
I'd say in the suburbs, it's about 80-90% of people who hang out in bars on a given night. Cabs are way too expensive and designated driving is not something I would imagine to be realistic at all. I think I can attest to this formerly living in the suburbs.
Living in the city, most ppl don't own cars and there are more taxicabs than regular cars. Being an alcoholic, it's perfect. Additional Details

I really do think this is one of the great ironies of society. Drinking and driving is punished so heavily and so looked down upon by 'nondrinkers' and 'puritans' but 'having a few drinks' is so socially acceptable and the alternatives to getting behind the wheel are just not reasonable on a regular basis.

I live a block away from a popular bar, I can't believe how many people come weaving down the street. People have hit my front fence, trees, the lamp post in front of my home. everything you could hit has been hit. Also any given morning there are only one or two cars left in a parking lot that was full the night before. you can't tell me that many people were DD's! I'd definatley agree 80-90 is accurate alot. i would say more than you would believe. i say that alot of teens drink and drive because they are intespible, but i don't worry about it to much i live in a small town where crime doesn't happen to offten more than 70% of people many and sorry to say I've done it too the thing to do is to get drunk but drink caffeinated sodapop and let the alcohol peak with it then drink water until u sober up enough to drive A lot of people do and they need to stop. I think there are alot of people who drive home after drinking. There is one thing to consider about the clubs in the city, though. I know numerous people who live well outside of Atlanta, Ga that go into the city to party. There's no way they are popping for a cab and none of the people they hang with are going to stay sober. So yeah, people that live near their clubs aren't as likely to drive after partying, there are still plenty in there that do.
