What type of wine do I serve with lemon pepper chicken?!

Question:

What type of wine do I serve with lemon pepper chicken?

I am making a lemon pepper chicken with rice and a vegetable (tba) and want to serve wine with it, but I want to know what is the best type- red, white, dry? Help.

Answers: i would probably go with white and not just because you are having poultry. But sauvignon blanc or pinot grigio/gris would be great with lemon pepper. Slightly dry and citrus tasting. The chardonnay may be OK with it, but might be too heavy. Poultry should be served with a white wine. I would suggest something not to sweet, or the contrast with the chicken could make it seem really sour. I would like maybe a Pinot Grigio...or a dry Chardonnay. I think a chardonnay would be great! The days of picking the wine to the meal your eating does not exist anymore. Example: white wine with fish and poultry, Red wine with beef, Pork, etc: but with the lemon pepper chicken, my choice is a good Sauternes (sweet) which goes great with the tartness and pepper of the chicken. Bone appetite A sauvingnon blanc or a fume would be nice, or you could step up to a white zin 1st choice - Gamay Beaujolais
2nd choice - Liebfraumilch
3rd choice - Pinot Gris You can have any kind of white wine of your choice that you like.
