Answers: That's exactly what I hate about beer too! If you want to drink a sweet sort of beer, try berry beers, they're very sweet. I absolutely love Belle-Vue Kriek (belgian beer) -- almost doesn't taste like beer at all. Leffe Brune also very nice, in my personal opinion, altho my beer-drinker friend says it tastes like sh*t, but the coffee-ish flavour seems to justify the bitterness hence making it ok and actually nice. There are others, i haven't tried tho...

Also, if its hard to find, for some reason I can take stouts in general. Love Guinness. Try going for the darkest beers in general, works for me, hope it works for you! woodchuck cider.... really really good!! Beer is an acquired taste, and the more you drink the more you will enjoy it. I used to not like beer at all, but now I can have a pint of a lot of beers with little aversion to the aftertaste. Maybe within the next year I will be able to drink more of it.

But it it's sweetness you want, I suggest wine coolers, alcopops (like Smirnoff Ice), mixed drinks, and sweet wines like White Zinfandel. Switch to a wine such as Sangria, Arbor Mist (many varieties) or Asti Spumanti. there is a beer here in OZ that's called Beez Neez (I think) and the honey in it takes away the bitter aftertaste. Also there are a couple of Japanese beers that taste a lot crisper and not so beery (Ahshahi - so don't know how to spell it), and there is a Belgum beer that's cherrie beer which like the honey one the cherries make it a bit sweeter. My friend brought over Hornsby's Hard Cider "Crisp Apple"..
Very Very Good really just tasted like apple juice with a "KICK". It is now on my Favorites when it comes to getting a beer. Just might go have one right now, sounds so good! Try mixed drinks or wine coolers or other beer-like drinks such as Zima or Smirnoff Twisted (Arctic Berry is my fav).

For mixed drinks, I highly recommend Rum Punch or Tequila Sunrise. Well, it all depends on if it truly is "sweetness" you want or perhaps just to take away the "beer" aftertaste, you're after.
I always liked the "foo-foo" drinks until my brother got me into trying different beers that he thought I might like. I really like Leinenkugels Berry Weiss, and if it happens to be too sweet for you, mix it with a bit of the Honey Weiss.... very good starter.. I also really love Blue Moon Belgian Wheat Ale with a slice of blood orange (or two) garnish. If you don't have blood oranges, use a slice of orange, lemon and a cherry. It's so delectable, you'll forget you're drinking beer. Bottoms Up!!! My Mother doesn't like the taste either so she has half coke & half beer. She really likes it & any friends who have tasted it says its nice.Give it a go.I bet you like it. Mead may be a good choice for you. It is similar to beer/light ale but is is fermented w/ honey rather than sugar.
