Which are the flaming spirits? (alcohol wise)?!

Question:

Which are the flaming spirits? (alcohol wise)?

Answers: Anything with an alcohol content of 50% (100 proof) or more will light pretty easily. My personal anecdote to this is a drink that we invented when I was a bartender, known as The Flaming Joe (the bar's name was Joe's). It is a shot consisting of half Firewater (or Goldschlager, or anything cinnamon), half Apple Pucker, with a bit of Yukon Jack (100 proof) floated on top. Light that sucker on fire until it either burns out, or you can snuff it out, then shoot it! all alcohol is flamable.......duh Flaming spirits are the alcohols that are used in cooking that are flammable. These usually have a high alcohol content. When they catch on fire, the alcohol burns out, leaving just the flavor. Cognac, rum, and brandy are good examples. Best one to use is 151 rum which is used for a lot of flaming drinks. The higher the alcohol content the better it burns. You mean like they use to make flaming desserts? Typically it's Bacardi 151 rum because the alcohol content is high enough to catch fire (75.5% by volume). 151 usually used in flaming drinks, cognac if food is flaming At least 80 proof. (40% by volume) Half the proof is the alcohol content. any spirit can be made to flame. Just heat the glass to sufficient temperature (preferably pour boiling water in) and light. the higher the alcohol content, the better it burns. bacardi 151 is often used in flaming drinks, dark rum is lit for bananas foster, steaks are great with cognac, or whiskey flambe. you can basically use any spirit to flambe.
