What would be considered the top 5 beers in the world?

Budweiser

Guinness

In the USA, Bud Light dominates.
There's actually a beer cup every year, pretty prestigious, so the "top five" (according to that, anyways!) changes yearly. You can usually find results at Brew-Monkey.com

I'll give ya my top five, since the common top five can be easily researched on line....
Beamish
Chimay (any of the labels will do, tho i like the red most of all)
Guinness (on draught)
Highland Brewing Co. Black Mocha Stout
Left Hand Milk Stout
and, last but not least......(even tho it's not made anymore it still has a special place in my heart) Grants Perfect Porter (the name says it all)

Its hard to come up with a definitive list, but off the top of my head, here's my top five (in no particular order):
Straub (only sold in PA/OH)
Harp
Amberbock
Hacker Pschorr
Sam Adams Oktoberfest
Honorable Mention: Carlsberg
Not a huge stout drinker like some have posted, but Murphy's (and of course, Guinness) is pretty good.
This is really a completely subjective topic, especially since some folks don't care for particular types of beer - stouts, pilsners, wheat beers, etc ... the "top 5" for one is likely to be very different than the "top 5" for another.
Having said that, here is the current "top 5" as listed on beeradvocate.com - one of the leading online beer websites. In my experience, this list is pretty good, although I'd replace a couple of the 5 listed here on my personal list:
