What's the best rum n coke ratio/recipe?
I've been drinking it for a long time. Tell me, in great detail, exactly how to make the perfect rum and coke.
Answers: The best rum, is whatever rum you happen to like.
The best ratio, is whatever ratio you happen to prefer.
I would, however, recommend a specific type of cola. Coca-Cola makes a special type of "kosher" coke around Passover that is made with real sugar instead of the usual corn syrup sweetener. It tastes better than the regular stuff they sell the rest of the year. Also, for some reason coke tastes fresher in the small bottles than it does in either the 2-liter bottles or cans. I don't know, but I would just put in a liitle dab of rum..... There is no such thing as the 'perfect' rum and coke. It is a matter of taste.
I like about half a shot glass of rum, a lot of ice, then fill the glass with coke.
My friend, on the other hand, uses a full shot glass of rum, even a bit more.
To each his/her own! I typically like a 50-50 mix of Coke Zero and either Cruzan Blackstrap or some good ol' Captains. half 'n half
