What is pan-seared?!

Question:

What is pan-seared?

Answers:
To Sear: To brown meat quickly by subjecting it to very high heat either in a skillet, under a broiler or in a very hot oven. The object of searing is to seal in the meat's juices, which is why British cooks often use the word "seal" to mean the same thing.

By saying pan sear, is to use a pan to do the above.

pan seared is where you pour the alcahol into a pan and just cook it for a bit just until it starts to boil and then take it off.

Pan searing is quickly cooking the outside of fish or meats so that the juices are locked in. Get a fry pan hot and then place what you want to sear in the pan. Once the outside starts to brown flip it over and brown the other side. Then the item is ready for slow cooking or roasting.
