Posting a huge bottle of vodka?!

Question:

Posting a huge bottle of vodka?

I want to post a big bottle of vodka to a friend (also in the EU); I'm in London. Is there some law about sending alcohol to other countries? How much would it cost?

Answers:
The best thing to do would be call your local post office and ask for the restrictions on shipping alcohol. They may ask for the address of where you are shipping the vodka to, then they should be able to answer your question.

I live in the US, in the state of Pennsylvania. The State of Pennsylvania does not allow shipment of spirits/wine into our state, because Pennsylvania has a Liquor Control Board operated by state government. If I were in your situation, and I called my local post office, they would be able to explain to me that I could not ship the vodka, due to state law.

You're not smuggling guns. Pack it well, and take it to the Post Office where it shall be weighed and you will be charged according to its weight and also if you want 1st class, airmail, etc.

My answer is according to EU laws, I live in Ireland and have done it a few times.
