What is this wine?!

Question:

What is this wine?

I am trying to find out the name of a wine I tasted in Zante, Greece last year. I am sure it was called something like Amerovigli. It was delicious and we had quite a lot of this whilst in a restaurant one night. Can't seem to find it anywhere though. Please help.

Answers: If it was red wine then it was Aghiorgitiko. The etymology of the name is the variety which comes from the town of St. George which today is called Nemea. A grape unique to this area and southern Greece's best. As its
Agiorgitiko
attributes change with the altitude, the styles and character vary. The young wines have a fruity nose to them and if they are barrel aged a rich bouquet and full body is unveiled.
I'll try to locate some but I don't know where you live. This has a similar name being grown in the Imerovigli region

Characteristics:
Crystal-clear, white-yellow wine famous for its rich aromatic character. Dominated by the citrus fruit aromas with tender color sheen of white flowers. A vivid, rich, sparkling wine with a characteristic intense taste. It is served in 10oC accompanying fish, seafood and Greek cuisine dishes. Agiomavritiko could be the grape you had. That is if it was a red wine . What you drunk was probably local because the area has a number of wineries. I know of nowhere in the UK where you can actually get wine from Zante. If you can remember any more about the wine e-mail me and I will try and find a UK source.
