Answers: What on earth leads you to believe that it's poison?
It's not poison...quite the opposite. Most bitters were developed from medicinal tinctures.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/bitters... I have never heard it was poison, I have never seen any one die from it so I think it's not. An Old-Fashioned is about the only drink I know that uses it. However, Bitters and Tonic supposedly is a good stomach tonic. Also, Bitters on a sugared Lemon slice cures the hiccups!
Back to your question, you would put bitters in a drink if you are 80-120- years old! you obviously do not have a bottle and are just spewing nonsense.
