Anyone got any good ideas for cocktails please?

Ive never made them before and got some pals coming over tonight.I have the shaker and glasses but never had them out of the box! Thank you

Answers: Not much into cocktails, but if you want to start the evening off, well, give them just one (only one) slippery nipple, (half fill a shot glass with Butterscotch schnapps, (Hiram Walker, Butternips is a good one) with a spoon layer to the top with Bailey's and down in one) They will be relaxed and will be ready for your cocktails.. Sorry no ideas for your cocktail set, good luck with it... always bring that one home with me to the UK, as Butterscotch Schnapps isn't available here, though I guess the other sweet schnapps we can get here may work. Gin-Gin Mules are delicious.

You can get a recipe on the internet. margaritas are good my favorite is a pomegranate tini
2oz pomegranate vodka pearl is the best
1oz triple sec
splash lemon juice
pomegranate juice or pomegranate cranberry juice
shake with ice strain into glass you can coat the rim of the glass with raw sugar which makes it really good garnish with a lemon wedge take into consideration what alcohol and mixers you have, have a look on the internet but i have a couple of books on the subject so mail me if you get stuck. Wow, tough question, there are many things out there that you can make! I happen to like washington apples. Fill your shaker with ice, add 1/3 of each ingredient Crown royal, apple pucker, and cranberry juice, shake and strain. They taste like sour apples, yum!
Another favorite is a carrot cake. they are smooth and creamy, add ice, equal parts of bailys, butterscotch schnapps, and goldschlagger, shake and strain. Yum, another tasty one.

Have fun! When Amaretto di Saronno had its day, they came up with these:

- Godfather: Scotch on the rocks with a dash of Amaretto.
- Godmother: Cognac on the rocks with a dash of Amaretto.

Potent, both. There was a Japanese drink I used to have when stationed there. Here is a recipe for chuhai.

Shochu or Soju 1oz
soda water 2 1/2 oz
Lemon juice splash

You can also add fruit juice to instead the lemon juice to taste. This is a really fun drink. Hypnotiq or X-rated (the blood orange flavored, not their nasty vodka) with Calypso Lemonade (it has swirling fruit bits in it).

The Calypso smooths out both liquors and makes them extremely palatable.

I'd serve mine extra chilled or on crushed ice.

A nice alternative to mixing them is to "stack" the liquids. Hypnotiq below a raspberry calypso makes a beautiful blue, purple, pink layering. I'm not really a drinker & don't use much alcohol but here's a recipe invented by me...make a slushy lemonade(crush ice in the blender), add vodka & a dash of grenadine
(or u can just use lemonade on the rocks if u prefer)...
then enjoy!

Cranberry juice & vodka is good too. try an Irish cocktail .. Pint of Guiness with a tattie in it ,
or the classic Pina colada , big measure of white rum , ice , pineapple juice and coconut milk in your shaker , enjoy Blender drinks are nice. With Vodka, it's hard to go wrong mixing drinks. Just keep it sweet and simple. black bottle and ice
