Why shouldn't you mix light and dark liquor?!

Question:

Why shouldn't you mix light and dark liquor?

I'm not a big drinker, but i had a long island iced tea and then had a something with vodka in it. My friend suggested that I not do that because I'll be mixing my liquors! What's the big deal?

Answers:
i think that is a gray area

it doesn't make a difference, alcohol is alcohol.....
however, the darker alcohol will give you a worse hang over

I think some people get worse hangovers if they mix liquors,

I've heard that before too. I have also done it many times with no out of the ordinary effects. I thisk it's just an urban legend.

I'm pretty sure that's a myth. Your friend is silly.

It's all about how you feel the next day. Mix your drinks, worse your hangover is.

it can make u really drunk&sick really fast... especially if you're not a very experienced drinker, so if you dont want to end up passed out on the floor... listen to your friend

There is vodka in a long island iced tea!

I'm not exactly sure. I always heard in college that beer + whiskey would make you throw up. Not that I tried it. My friends who drank told me. I think it is something about the food coloring in the whiskey that upsets your stomach and causes throwing up. for encouragement, listen to ttb.org.

Because you would get more blasted.

it doesn't matter at all..besides Long Islands have vodka in it already. Everything depends on tolerance and taste.

Your mixing drugs in your body, just like if you were to take different kinds of a pill for one specific thing. Get it?

Dark liquors and light liquors have different sugars in them. They affect your stomach in different way and mixing them can cause you to get drunk faster and have worse hangovers.

It's mostly a factor of how bad a hangover you might have. In my experience, the clearer the drink, the less hangover. It's not so much a matter of light and dark liquor as it is what else you mix in with it and how much you drink.

I personally get fewer hang overs when I stick with the same alcohal all night. If I start with dark rum, I stay with dark rum. If I slip in a shot of something else, instant hangover!!

if you mix different types of alcohol it doesn't matter if they're dark or light they could cause you to get sick

NAH ! As ,long as the booze is good booze you'll be fine. Try this light dark beverage

Mind Eraser
Rocks glass filled with crushed ice
shot stoli vanil vodka
shot kaluha
top with club soda

place straw in glass
suck it down
enjoy!

some combinations of different things in a certain order make you sick for example, beer before liquor makes you sicker, liquor before beer NEVER FEAR

Alcohol is alcohol, what really messes you out is the mixer. Too much sweetness (all your Sex on the beaches, foo-foo drinks, etc.) and you're out after three or four drinks. And do not plan big things the next day. It won't simply happen.

a long island already has vodka in it, so you were already mixing
