Popular/commonly ordered fruity cocktails for a newbie..?!

Question:

Popular/commonly ordered fruity cocktails for a newbie..?

I turned 21 a while ago, and I never know what to order at bars! When I go on recipe websites, I find drinks that sound good, but I am always afraid I will ask for one of them and the bartender will have no idea what it is!
Any bartenders or anyone with a knowledge of what's common and popular have any drinks to suggest?
I like rum, pineapple juice, orange juice, grenidine, all that good stuff... any suggestions?

Answers: sex on the beach, grape crush, pearl harbors, greatful dead, pineapple upside down cake...just beware the sugar in these drinks packs on the pounds and makes for a nasty hangover if too much fun is had Midori Sours are good.
Tequila Sunrises are good Rum and coke. fuzzy navel are good. I really like amaretto sours not too strong of an alcohol taste but good hypnotiq is great.
however be careful. it tastes soo good that you will drink glass after glass without feeling it then BOOM. your on the floor. limit it to only 2 glasses. malibu rum & pineapple. It's like a non-frozen pina colada. verrrrry good. Try a tequila sunrise or sex on the beach. I would suggest developing your palette a bit with some less sweet cocktails. You will find yourself feeling better without the queasy feeling all that sugar gives you. If you mix flavored rum with, say, pineapple juice, the amount of sugar is high enough to make you feel horrible after only a couple of drinks. Try vodka and cranberry, and then when you feel adventurous, gin and tonic with a twist of lime. Hangovers are made much worse by the large amounts of sugar in the more "fruity" cocktails. Give it a try and if you don't love it at first taste, stick with it a bit. Developing a wider taste is great fun. Pina coloda & if you want a twist to it ask for it with capt morgans spiced rum, armaratta sour, apple martini, sex on the beach, pink panties.
