Watter bottles in the freezer?!

Question:

Watter bottles in the freezer?

i've heard that putting a bottle of water in a freezer can cause cancer. i can't possibly imagine how this could be true. what chemical transfer from the platic to the water could possible occur by freezing. now, heating the the bottle to the point it melted and released particles i could see. can a chemist or doctor ONLY answer this?

Answers:
I've read the label on some of the mineral water i buy and it says not to freeze the water in the bottle.... and it doesn't say why.

I'm not a chemist or a doctor (sorry for doing what you asked me not to do) but i'v watched on tv that there were studies done. and they found out that it dosnt caus any cancer or any thing like that.

I'm a doctor and I don't find anything that would cause cancer by freezing bottles.... heating a bottle could cause intoxication but not freezing
