Does alcohol speed up your heart rate?

I've just had a couple and now my heart is racing!


Answers: Never mind poster #1..... Alcohol will speed up your heartbeat by lowering your blood pressure. It is temporary and it is normal. R u taking some medication? For me usually it slows down. But it is very common to experience any number of arrythmias after even modest amounts of alcohol consumption. it usually slows the heart and respiration rate, that's how some ppl die when they're drunk. Maybe you're excited or u had a mixer with caffeine ... lol course it does!!! and you can die. simple ;) oh well.
