Can you recommend a nice champagne for my Wedding reception???!

Question:

Can you recommend a nice champagne for my Wedding reception???

....I am not a big champagne drinker. Don't really have a clue.

Answers:
I would suggest to go with some sparkling wine versus actual Champagne. People most commonly refer to sparkling wine as Champagne anyways so nobody would know the difference. The only true Champagne is from the Champagne region of France. That being said, I'm not much of a Champagne drinker myself and the only sparkling wine that I enjoy is Martini & Rossi Asti. It has a light and fruity flavor. It's made from moscato grapes which happen to be my favorite kind of grape as well. I plan on doing my wedding toast with this Champagne. It's about $12, but if you buy in bulk I'm sure you can get a better deal.

Good luck & enjoy!

Many young Americans do not care for a dry quality Champagne. You might consider a sparkling wine....Asti Spumante which is sparkling and different degrees of sweetness. Try a couple different bottles to see what YOU like the best......it IS your day after all, enjoy!

Verdi Spumante is cheap and sweet not dry so most ppl will like it and it's doesn't do much as far as getting drunk. It also comes in a pretty bottle. I love it - bc/ I don't really drink much alcohol, but it's fun for a special occasion.

veuve de verney - the quality is excellent and it is really affordable. It is not too sweet or too dry and we have found that it is a hit any where you take it.

I suggest Cook's Champagne. It's not the best quality, but it's not the worst, and if should do for toasts to the bride and groom and so forth. It is also very affordable. We had it at our wedding.

if you want to serve it with canapes then a good choice would be Italian prosecco, from the Valdobbiaddone area - it's also relatively cheaper than other spumante/champagne wines. It's medium dry.

thought not a real french champagne, try Mumm Cuvee M. Retails around $15 per bottle. Very popular at most of the wine tasting events in Napa Valley.

Choose an inexpensive one, no one will have a clue otherwise. Weddings are a nice place to get drunk on the cheap.
