I understand that the UK minimum age for purchase of alcohol is to rise to 21. Is this true?!

Question: no

Answers: no
it already is in the u.s so most likely
cool
it already has risen to 21 and to 18 to buy tobacco on october 1st
No it's not true.

There are a number of organisations and interested parties calling for the age to be raised to 21 but there is no legislation pending to actually raise it.
Probably. Gordon Brown's father was a Presbyterian minister.
i hope not!!
yeah and also after november you wont be able to buy 10 cigarettes as it stops under age kids from buying them!!!!!!
If it does youngsters have no one to blame but a sizeable minority in their own ranks.
No it's not true, I heard that, that will not be happening anytime soon either, which I agree with, they shouldn't put the age up.

It's tabacco which is going up to 18 - which is a good idea
not yet but probably with the next 3 years it will but ill fight it all the way, theyve just upped the smoking age on oct 1st so till the 10th of nov i cant buy cigarettes legally, if they try and cut me off from drinking say when im 20 i will go mental!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
