I have been told time and time again that heinken is not a import beer. is this true?!
is there some sort of metric system for beers? comeon now, i know heinken beats the crap out miller lites.
maybe i should get new friends.
Answers: or a premium beer, but a domestic. i was told not to even bother try hiding them at a party because amstels would go first then the miller lites, and then the natural lights and maybe the heinkens. i was quite offended that natural lites is in the same category as heinken. no offense to natural lite drinkers, but please lets get real.

Well my man, Heineken is the main beer on tap in it's home country (Holland).
I don't know what kind of "Heineken" they're selling you, but....
Heineken is classified as a pale lager, to real beer drinkers, it is considered swill.
Heineken generally ranks in the bottom 10% on most beer rating sites (but fret not, most American Macro Lagers and Corona are in the bottom 1%)
For more about Heineken's plainess, check out

(ranks 14,870th out of 15,500 beer)

33 thumbs up, 67 thumbs down
Yea dude get new friends they don't know quality if it hit them upside there head (: Heineken is the boom it kicks butt to any lite beer and i am a girl! i also love the Ales the amber ale, the dark beer like when you hold your sssiii ice cold glass of beer to the light it should be a golden colour Sam Adams is good too Hey you just made me thirsty go have a COLD one for me and you and enjoy that slightly bitter after taste it leaves in your mouth ("
Alot of people dont seem to like do to the "skunky" after taste, my self I like it but pefer Becks over Hiney.
Heineken, as well as Amstel, is made (by the same company) in Amsterdam, Netherlands. However, I believe the Heineken sold in the U.S. is brewed here under license, and it is nowhere near as good as the stuff you get there. I visited Amsterdam some years ago and toured the brewery. The beer was very good there (on tap fresh from the brewery) but I think the stuff sold here in the states is very nasty (probably why most people shorten the name to "Heiny')
Heineken is an import from Holland. That's the simple answer to your question. If you want an opinion, try Pilsner Urquel, Stella Artois, or Peroni. They are much better European Pilsner style beers.
Yeah your friends are wack. Amstel's good. But Miller Lite and Natty Ice??? No waaaaaay. Heineken IS an import. It's made in Holland. So is Amstel. The others are all domestics. And they're shite. Tell your friends to paddle each other like the frat boys they are. And then enjoy the fact that you don't have to hide your beer from anyone!
plan and simple heineken is imported. and amstel and heineken are really similar beers so i have no idea why your friends are drinking that other stuff before they enjoy an IMPORTED heineken
