If you are talking american or canadian whiskey I'd say coke, you can drop a shot of irish whiskey into a guiness and it is an "irish carbomb" --take it easy with those, Bourbon and Irish whiskey are both good with lemonade, but if you are taling scotch I'd add just a spoonful of evian or maybe just ice or if you must, soda water.

if its a decent malt whisky it would be sin to put anything in it. by the way whisky is scottish. and whiskey is irish.
