Why don't they seel Coors Original in Canada?!
You can't get Coors in Mexico either.
EDIT: Molson and Coors parted ways years ago? Uh, I beg to differ. Direct from the MOLSONCOORS.COM website:
"Molson Coors Brewing Company
Global Brands for a Global Market
The merger of Canadian-based Molson Inc. and Golden, Colorado’s Adolph Coors Company on Feb. 9, 2005 represents shared values and vision. The two companies joined to leverage their strengths in a fiercely competitive, rapidly consolidating global beer market. The merger makes Molson Coors a leading global brewer, with the longest history of brewing and marketing beer in North America."
Answers: Of course Coors cares about Canadians. They are partnered with Molson, duh. Anyway, I would assume it has to do with production capacity and not wanting to compete with their own Canadian born product, Molson.

Coors hates Canada... Molsen parted ways with them years ago, i know, i work at coors
and coors loves mexicans more than they love canadians... dirty filthy canadians
Why don't they sell regular Amstel in the US and only Amstel Light? My guess is it's an arbitrary decision by an arbitrary person. Maybe Canadian people have enough crappy macro brews to drink (Labatt's, Molson) and don't need another one. I've never seen Molson Light, though I'm sure it exists. Perhaps Coors thought that it's light beer would fill a niche that was needed in the Canadian drinking world. Or maybe they want to give American people one more thing to hang over Canada's head that we have and they don't. Like cops with guns and warm weather.
But probably it's the first thing.
Don't listen to answer number one. He's not correct.
The reason is that the alcohol content in the original Coors doesn't fit the tastes of Canadian buyers. When the Canadian company Molson merged with Coors to created Molson Coors, which markets mainly in Canada..they had to produce beers that fit the tastes of Canadian drinkers.
They had to lower alcohol content. This is the same for Budwieser's England market.
Regular Budwieser has I think 5.0%, but British drinkers prefer about it lower so they came up with a different Budwieser for England called Bud Silver, which has 4.1%..
