To all of you with great answers, and interesting alternatives I should try; I guess I just wasn't aware of the other quality American beers. UNFORTUNATELY, Budweiser, Coors, ad Miller get all of the attention and dominate the market. I welcome email and instant messages.

Go to a wild oats or a store with a large beer selection and ask to be shown the American "craft beers" (formally known as "microbrews".

If it is available in your areas you should try

"Fat Tire" by New Belgium CO
Victory OH
Sierra Nevada CA
Three Floyd's IN
"Ruination" by Stone not sure of state

Sorry to tell you Jacqui W, Sam Adams is a lager, not an ale, but it does taste more like an ale than most lagers.

Also Paul A, that depends if you are taliking macros or craft beers, as for craft beers, American brewers are actually known as the hop-craziest brewers in the world.

Also Nick P, while I would agree that of the 100 best beers in the world probably at least half are Belgian or German, European is NOT synonomous with good, beers like Heiniken and Stella Artois are (almost) as unimaginative, flat or bad tasting, and crappily produced as Budweiser--There's white trash and white trash beer everywhere.

especially good are Victory's Storm King and, Sierra Nevada's Bigfoot.

Because you haven't tried any of the good stuff yet.

because American beers suck. Europeans take pride in their beers.

You apparently like ale more than beer. There are original American ales served at Brew Pubs. You may enjoy what they have to offer more than what is in stock at the convenience store.

Because they are cheep. Its the whole hops thing. Thats why German beers are awsome, and Samuel Adams figured out the hops.

Because you have never tasted Stegmaier from Wilkes Barre,Pa.

Ya I'm with ya,Lousy US beers.I like these Moosehead Lager,Pacifico,Dos Equies Lager, bass Ale.

Well, maybe you haven't tried some of the other label beers. There are hundreds of varieties and I doubt that you have tried them all and the ONLY one you liked was Samuel Adams. Start guzzling.

Try Schlafly, Bell's, Sierra Nevada, Rogue, actually just go to the store and look for American beers in the Sam Adam's price range and above. Miller and Bud may be super popular, but it doesn't mean they're high quality. Though I have a special place in my heart for High Life.

Try some stuff out, you might be surprised.

Depends on your taste. I love and prefer Budweiser but, I found their is a Chinese beer as well that is really good...gives you energy along with a buzz that is different.

Yea, most American beers are made cheap, no flavor or hops in their beer. That's why Samuel Adams won the best American beer at a German tasting of beers.

You know, I was reading through the answers, and the one that said you need to try the Leinenkugels, that's true, you do need to try it, it's a great beer!! It has a great taste, it's fruity tasting though but it's good.

Great Lakes, Bells, Magic Hat, Stone, Sierra Nevada, Lienenkugels, 3 Floyds, Victory all make outstanding beer in the US. Pretty much anything produced by Budweiser, Miller or Coors isn't going to be very flavorful or very good, but you will be pleasantly suprised by most of the craft/microbrews made here.

cuz if u r realy as hot as this picture of yours then its for you

how come the only men i like are the smart ones?

Have you ever tried Yuengling? It's a lager made in PA. Also Magic Hat has lots of varieties to try. Sammy's are so yummy!

because you like a lager with more hops

Also known by aficianados as "liquid bread," Sam get's that way because they really pour on the hops. Agreed, most American brands are kind of weak, but that's the American taste. McDonald's hambugers, so-called hot and spicy wings -bland, bland, bland.

Try a bottle of Amstelle Light next time. I was amazed at how "beery" it tasted, while still feeling light on the tummy. Otherwise, check out micro-brews until you find one you like -and just hope they can make it that way repeatedly.

I don't know if it still is made anymore, but Rolling Rock was pretty tasty, and Yuengling (oldest continuously operating brewery in the USA) still is pretty good.

So much beer -so little time! Doncha hate it?

If you liuke Sam Adam, you enjoy Yuengling Lager!

I don't like American beers for the most part either, but I sure don't like Sam Adams.

I like them, too. I especially like the Samuel Adams Seasonal Brews and White Ale. They are all wonderful.

cause it is a different taste from the rest..
