Jack Daniels or Crown Royal?!

Question: Which is the better whiskey? I enjoy them both, Jack is flavorful and Crown is extra smooth, just curious which one is favored over the other.

Depends on your taste, since they're 2 different whiskeys.

Jack is a Tennessee whiskey. Basically, its a bourbon, but since it's not made in Kentucky, it can't be called as such. The most distinctive part of the flavor comes from the charcoal filtering. Try the single barrel sometime...it's worth it.

Crown on the other hand, is nothing more than a purple marketing gimmick. The whiskey itself is almost identical to Seagram's 7 (no big surprise, since they're made by the same company). It's a blended whiskey; this means that they use a whiskey base, and add it to grain alcohol to bring it to proof. It's not aged at all. Regardless of the tier (special reserve and XR), the recipe for the base changes, but the quality is still the same. The bag gives it the impression of being expensive, but (and this comes directly from their sales reps mouth), it costs more to make the bag, then anything inside it. I'd recommend either 40 Creek or Pendleton's before Crown. Both are 10 year old whiskey's and have a great flavor and smoothness (plus you'll save a chunk of change).
crown royal.
crown royal is better of the two ,but try gentleman jack and you'll find it on par if not better than the crown royal
By all means Jack is the best. Only one other Whisky I like better and that is Glenfiddich single malt. Price difference in the two is astronomical though.
Crown Ryoal, in my opinion is over rated. Jack Daniels is the pride of Tennessee and of America and I am darn proud of JD.
Peoples preffered Jack Daniels(fairly good whiskey),Crown Royal the best canadian whisky.
love em both but jack is actually burbon so no need to judge just love em both
I like them both about the same.
jack is not a bourbon. neither is that great, but crown is considered a better whiskey
(Bourbon IS whiskey. So is Jack.). Try Jack Daniel's straight for ultimate clarity and champion whiskey taste or Jack Daniel's Gentleman Jack Tennessee Whiskey if you prefer mellow whiskey. Crown Royal is less acceptable than Jack Daniel's straight, but highly acceptable mixed.
