I've found that women prefer the light tequilas and men prefer the dark. Don't know why, that's just the way it is, I guess. But most people making margaritas only use margarita mix, tequila and ice. Don't for get to add Triple Sec. It adds just enough sweetness to knock the bitterness down a notch. Women also prefer this, I've found. Wet the rim of your margarita glass and dip into margarita salt (which also come s in different flavors and colors) and their ya have it. The perfect margarita.
Jose cuervo gold and the Jose cuervo mix!
Cuervo is okay, but Suaza is far better tequila.
Tequila + Triple Sec + Lime juice (fresh)

All you need for a wonderful margarita!
Of the two, I agree with the first poster about the mix. Try adding a splash of grenadine. Always salt the cup with kosher salt (or actual margarita salt), serve with lime. Over ice is better than blended for margarita. Put in TWO little straws-- like coffee straws, but made for alcoholic drinks.

For pina coladas, I'd blend it and put a piece of pineapple on rim and an umbrella... use rum..

Here's a drink I invented. Try it out. It's awesome.

Ensenada

1 oz Tequila
1 oz Blue Curacao
Lemonade

Pour ingredients into ice-filled glass, fill with lemonade, dip in cherry. Salt rim.
Pina Coladas are the best if made with Capt. Morgans spiced rum. TRUST me you won't be disappointed! I just use the frozen mixers at the grocery store.
The best margaritas is with jose cuervo gold, also get some grand marnier and Contro (sp) this is not cheap liquor but it will make a terrific top shelf margarita. Forget the triple sec because that is just a cheap brand of both or either of these. Sweet and sour or margarita mix are about the same. It only takes a small amount of either one of these or both is even better. Yes salt the rim.
Hey I just started bartending college LOL so this is good practice for me hehe

Margarita
1 oz tequila
1/2 oz triple sec
1/8 oz rosas lime juice
2 oz sweet and sour

Blue Margarita
just like above but use Blue Curaco instead of Triple Sec

Daquiri, frozen banana
1-1/2 oz sweet and sour
1 oz light rum
1/2 medium ripe banana
1/2 cup of finely crushed ice

Daquiri, frozen banana
same as above but use cup of frozen strawberries instead of banana

Blue Hawaiian
1 oz light rum
1/2 oz Blue Curaco
2 oz pineapple juice
2 oz sweet and sour
Try this
Ultimate Margarita
