Is it still a 15year old?!
Answers: if i buy a bottle of 15year old whisky and i keep it for 10 years, does the whisky become equivalent to a 25year old and will it taste the same as a 25year old?
i wish i had your will power if i bought a bottle of whisky it would be gone in 2 days.
It seems logical.
no it stops aging once its out of the barrel
I suppose it would taste like a 25 year old Whisky but why would you drink 25 year old Whisky?
Absolutely not, once a whiskey is bottled, it will remain the same age. Aging in barrels is what develops the characteristics of that particular whiskey, once it is bottled it will no longer improve with age.
Don't be silly - it's being in the charred oak barrel that makes longer aged booze taste better than short term ...glass does nothing to help it mellow...I recommend drinking the 15 yr old stuff now (unless you are driving)
the age of whisky is the time it stays in the barrel, not in the bottle
Doesn't age in bottle unles opened sometimes it turns vinegary taste or evaporates ??? aging stops at end of frematation in barrel...
we learned this from bottles at Oban distrillery in Scotland makers of famous Scotch whiskeys ager as old as 75years..and a 1000.00 per bottle...U.S. Dollars..
