your funny!!!! I hate all the lectures I get to quit too. I am American and I smoke Marb Lights. They have white filter here and the only place I have ever gone is Mexico adn I brought my own smokes with me. How much cheaper are they? I may have to check it out
From experience with Marlboro lights with the brown filter... I think I only got them in Canada, if I remember correctly.

They seemed a bit stronger than a white filtered Marlboro light, at least in my opinion. But it may just have all been in my head.
you get what you pay for...if you buy cheap ciggies from abroad - you will get cheap, dried out, nasty tobacco...i know - i am an evil smoker too!! (also beware of counterfeit ciggies...they are full of nasty subtances)

p.s. quit smoking & eat sweets from granny...lol!! (funny!)
I've never seen the ones with a brown filter, i would be cautious as to why the filter is a different color, it may change the taste of it. I would see if you could call the company and find out why.
Well, I thought you had a good idea then but the website doesnt work :-( brown filters dont make a difference though.
The ones sold in the US have white filters. I know in some countries they sell ones that are manufactured in the Phillipines and those have brown filters. They taste a tab bit stronger than the ones made in the US and they are a bit shorter and stubbier, almost like a Camel wide. Not bad.
I wouldn't dream of it. Knock yourself out.
Give my love to your granny.
my mom did that one time and i always shared her cigarettes. to me they tasted awful. they may be cheaper but so is the quality. we have a higher class of cigarette in the U.S. than other countries. they were also a lot stronger than a normal light. ill just spend the extra and have the ones i enjoy better.
Ok, well when you're in the Dr. office coughing up tar awaiting test result to see if you have cancer. But I'll spare you the lecture of how second hand smoke doesn't only affect you but people around you, even your pets, kids and your poor granny. I will not mention how smoking also ages you and is not sexy when you reach in for a kiss and your mouth tastes like an ashtray. I will spare you all that just so you can enjoy your poison stick in peace.
The only difference is the whit ones use bleach
papers,as the brown is natural.
the filters do nothing to filter the smoke. It was started to convince people that it was a safer smoke.
I have no interest in if you smoke or not.
that wasen't your question.
Your smokes are probly coming from a American
Indian smoke shop.
As somebody who smoked for 60 years, before quitting, I aint
in a position to lecture anybody.
However I am aware of the crap cigarettes, that are sold as the real thing.
If you are desperate for cash, it is probably safer, and cheaper, to buy decent tobacco and roll your own cigarettes.
You really don't need the problems that can result from smoking the stuff that is included in most of the phony brands.
P.S. I spent most of my life working abroad and saw how some (Not all) of them were made.
When I was overseas I noticed the Marlboro lights had a brown filter, so that means they are more likely made in Russia.. I am not sure if you live in America, but you do get taxed on buying on line here in the states. IN the states we have white filters.
The brown filters are made from recycled material. They do not just use paper they also use any fiberous paper like material that winds up in the recycle hopper. So it might be news print or card board or grocery bags, paper towels, or even tissues and toilt paper.

The reason it is brown is because they do not bleach the paper during processing so that you know it is recycled.

The white filters are bleached with a combination of hypochlorite acid and benzene. This is done to sanitized the paper prior to human use. Because benzene is a suspected carcinogen the final stage of the process includes washing the paper with various cleaning solvents like dry cleaning fluids to get the really nasty stuff out.

As far as taste is concerned the brown filter gives the smoke a nutty mossy taste.

I hope this helps you in your decision process.
This is interesting....I smoke Camels and have never bought cigarettes online but my brother works at an Indian Casino and the Camels he sells are completely different than the ones I buy from the store. They don't have the bands around them that if left burning will cause the cigarette to go out that California has put into law and they taste stale and yucky. The one thing I would warn to be cautious about, and it could just be a rumor, that Marlboro puts glass in their filters and Camels uses plain old cotton.

Anyway I don't understand why people have to put their 2 cents in about the dangers of smoking when you have clearly asked them not to....and when she clearly stated she will spare you the lecture she went on to lecture anyway. In response to her comment that it ages you well I am living proof that it doesn't. I am 42 years old and I still get carded for cigarettes and when I pull out my license to show my age people freak out. I don't have a wrinkle, a frown line or a pucker mark around my mouth....it is stress, sun damage and dehydration that ages people. So wear sunblock, drink lots of water, smoke if you choose and be happy.
