Which is the best champagne?!

Question: Well, that's a good question. The term champagne really is used to label only the sparkling wines from the area of France by the same name. Of the French houses in champagne, the best and most readily available are probably those from Moet Chandon or Veuve Clicquot, although Roederer and its Crystal are well loved (but in my opinion over priced). Dom Perignon from Moet Chandon, or La Grande Dame from Veuve Clicquot are as good and better priced, depending on the vintage. In contrast, if you are more interested in price, try St. Hilaire from the Languedoc region (around $10 to $15). From California, Mumm's DVX (around $45) and Blanc de Blanc ($30 or so)are really terrific for the price, as are those from Domaine Chandon (Blanc de Blanc, Etoile, or Reserve Brut) are in the $25 to $50 range, Schramsberg's sparkling wines priced upwards of $90 per bottle, or Roederer Estates with their excellently priced Anderson Valley Brut. As with any wine, your taste will depend on what is best. If you look for something a little sweet, try demi-sec, and look at Mumm's demi-sec selection or Cuvee M Red (yes, a red sparkling wine) at around $15 to $25 per bottle. Good luck.

I don't know if it can actually be called champgne, but i love this really cheap stuff called Verdi. it is like $4 a bottle, but it is my favorite. of course, i have never had expensive champagne, so i can't give you my opinion on quality champagne.
