Do you drink alcohol for the effect - or just to get drunk?!

well is there a difference?
Depnds on the occassion. Sometimes I drink just to feel it a little, but on New Years and Birthdays I get crazy drunk.
I have been going through a difficult time lately, and it's taking all of my will-power not to touch that bottle of vodka in the freezer. I don't want that to be the reason to drink alcohol.
don't under stand what your looking for the effect of alcohol is that you get drunk!
I'm one of those rare people who never drink because long ago I was married to abusive drunk and I won't allow that junk in my home. He drank for the effect and to get drunk. Is there a difference?
It's certainly NOT for the taste.
I drink to relax after a hard day. Most of the time I do end up drunk, but always have a good time.

I drink for the sake of Aroma and the taste of the scotch whiskey. I just love it.
I'm a social drinker. I enjoy drinking favourite drinks with mates and enjoy the effect but when I want to party I drink it to get drunk lol :)

I drink for the buzz but I don't drink to get drunk.. I rarely get drunk. Personally though I like the taste of wine so I also drink for the taste.. and love having wine with my dinner.
