The first answer is right. I remember my grandparents drinking it. Schaeffer and Rheingold were also around before Bud. Also, Schlitz used to be a 'real' brand.

I think miller an old German Bier form the old country Europe, Germany... i think around 1700's?? the company original from Massachusetts??
Bud and Coors started here in 1870's i think..
