you can make this anyway you want but if you want to use rum you can use whlers vanilla rum,, or use spiced rum by capt. morgan

I didn't know Southern Comfort was rum- I thought it was bourbon. Rum is traditionally used in pina coladas but since SoCo is on the sweet side it should be okay. I like to use crushed pineapple in my pina coladas, but your ingredients should make a passable version. Kind of like pizza, even when it's bad it's still pretty good.
There is no such thing as southern comfort 151 rum.
If you use Southern Comfort, then it wouldn't be a Pina Colada, but if you wanna use So Co, then go for it. Pina Coloda is made with rum, Bacardi preferably.
Try adding some crushed pineapple (you can use canned) also try adding a dash of orange juice. Enjoy.
