Can rats become alcoholics?!

Question: My household drinks loads of booze, and we also recycle cans and bottles.

This means big collections of both in the garden until we get a chance to take them to the recycling bins.

I've noticed recently that the rats are spending hours messing around with the bottles and cans at night, perhaps drinking the leftovers inside? They're so noisy! Are they doing it for fun, or drinking out of thirst, or because they like getting wasted?
The sure like to bang like humans, so why not drink themselves silly? Any thoughts?

Humurous.

Have seen other examples of animals unknowingly engaging in drug taking, so im sure the lil buggers luv to get plastered.

Yes! Put them in a deep, deep trance until they stop breathing! Wait! That's putting them into the deepest slumber,(dead!) Rat's carry several diseases, and can be vicious. I know of no good, to come from rats.(The Black Plague of England was carried by RATS!) Sounds like a good way to get Roaches, too!(Bags of cans) I suggest using Clorox on the outside of the bags, to keep all animals, insects, and rodents, away!

Yuck! I'm sure they can...
Of course, lots of alcoholics can become rats, too...hope it's not the case at your house!

They can get drunk, they can also get stoned (experiments with cocaine proved that)

yes, i had a dog that was an alcoholic,.....you should have seen him when he got the shakes,.....but fill his bowl with beer, and presto, he would drink it and the shakes would stop,.....

Rats yes, gerbils no, hampsters, hmmmmmmmm, maybe
