Answers:
Each state has the right to designate their own laws on drinking and smoking, but the ages are the same in the country. 18 to smoke and 21 to drink. In some states, they have said that you do not get into trouble for having cigarettes when you are under 18... but in Texas they do give you a citation. Also, the Texas law on alcohol states that a parent can purchase alcohol for their children as long as the parent is over 21. Also, those under the age of 21 that are married to someone over the age of 21 are legal to purchase alcohol. many bars do not respect this law and leave the age as 21 across the board.. but just so that you know.

Smoking: 18
Drinking: 21

smoking is 18 and drinking is 21

smoking age is 18 and drinking age is 21

It's 18 in America and 21 for drinking.

18 for smoking and 21 for drinking

For me it was 11 and 14, respectively...

Cops don't do anything when they see an under 18 year old smoking. But, yet they get in trouble if they purchase cigarettes under 18. I live in Oklahoma where the law sucks!

You have to be 18 to purchase cigarettes, but not to smoke them--legally. Drinking is 21 no matter what.

Smoking: 18
Drinking: 21
There you go!

You have to be 18 to smoke and 21 to drink in the states.

Most states 18 for smoking and 21 for alcohol.
