Can you make a Bloody Mary with Rum?!

Question:

Can you make a Bloody Mary with Rum?

Answers:
I guess you could but it won't be the same. rum has a flavor of its own and vodka has no flavor. It mixes better with the other ingredients in a bloody mary. Rum would also make it a bit sweeter.

no,it wont taste right.

Why not! Go for it.

Yuck, rum is a sweet alcohol and belongs with sweet or sour mixers. However, you can make a Bloody Mary with Tequila -- it's called a Bloody Maria!

Only if you want to ruin perfectly good tomato juice. put the rum in coke.

Why not try it out? If it's good, you can coin your own drink creation and call it a Bloody Marley!!

eew i wouldn't- rum is very sweet to be mixing with tomato juice and all of the savory ingredients. you can do gin, though. that's nice!

You could, but that would be disgusting! Try Absolut Peppar Vodka.

Sure...just stick with white rum like Bacardi Silver or similar. It will taste a little different than using vodka, but not much. Don't use dark rum and expect anything similar...doesn't mean it will be bad though.

You can try, but the recipe for bloody mary's has never included anything but vodka.
