What is the best type of beer for treating depression?!

Question:

What is the best type of beer for treating depression?

I asked this question in mental health and didn't get any usable answers.

Answers:
whiskey!!!!

I think you would be putting depression over the edge, if you combine it and beer. That's a killer combination - excuse the pun.

Maybe because alcohol cant treat depression, in fact it would probably make it worse.

I agree, it's like trying to treat back pain by jumping out the window from a 3-story building.

Alcohol in any form contributes to depression.

The only reasonable answer is NO beer, NO wine, NO booze, NO pot, NO meth., if you're serious. If this is one of those 6th grade jokes try Heineken and shooters of Peppermint Schnapps.

Alcohol of any kind is a depressant, and not a good treatment for depression.

For mild cases of the depression exercise is recommended. For more serious cases treatment with anti-depressants are recommended.

dont drink it off!
get some cymbalta!

Just water, i am thinking of doing that, i gave up few days ago, i keep on remembering that guy in cheers (sam malone), he used to drink that sparkling water. he gave up drinking didnt he.

Give up man, eventually we all have to, or maybe if i cant drink i dont want you to drink. ha ha

I like Odoul's Amber Ale, it tastes awsome like a real beer should, but is great for us with depression because there is no alchohaul to mess with our lobes, but most of the time I stick with the real stuff and get a lot of exercise to make up for it. Seratonins are amazing hormones you get from exercise that boost your confidence and help to balance out that imbalance! Good stuff, you mix some fresh air with that and you are golden and possibly depending on your state and weather you are taking medication are not may have a real beer. However if you are manic or on medicine then back to the non-beer!

natural ice,or Milwaukee's beast

Cold....ice cold

Alcohol is in fact, a depressant. Any alcohol, while appearing to provide escape, actually makes depression worse.
If you are serious, please consult a Doctor, school counselor, workplace employee asistance, friend, hotline, or pastor. The only chemical way to treat depression is with medications prescribed by a physician
